Three different classroom assignments received awards from FLUX, a national AIGA student design competition. UMD students’ work went up against students from 11 different states including Texas, California, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia and Georgia. The winners were:
The 2017 Graphic Design cohort’s Black Women: Image + Perception in Popular Culture exhibit design won awards for branding and social design. The winning project was created in ARTT454 Fall 2016 and ARTT455 Spring 2017.
The 2018 Graphic Design cohort’s Nations of Resilience: Standing Up | Standing Proud | Standing Strong exhibit design won an award for social design. The winning project was created in ARTT454 Fall 2017.
Emma Weiss, Jordan Stovka, Solomia Nebesh, Mariam Tammam, and Jose Sorto Guevara won an award for publication design for their magalog group project, which was created in ARTT355 Fall 2017.
